RE: Re. Closure of Bigfoot Industries

I'm awfully glad I don't own a new Ford,Chevrolet or Chrysler
product these days.
Guessed wrong, I own a 2006 Bigfoot 9.4 S/B, 1999 Ford f-350,
2001 Ford Explorer, 1970 Mustang Boss 429 and 1957 Ford Custom.
And new would be bad? :R

RE: Truck Camper Photos from the RVIA Trade Show in Louisville

...I had no idea one could buy a Lance Camper through Costco.
I didn't either and I'm still not sure you can.............but that sure looks like what the sign says.
Brad
Costco keeps sending be a Lance flyer, stating they'll give you a $500 Costco gift certificate if you buy a Lance.

RE: Where is the breather tube on this Onan 2500

Usually comes down the back side of generator. Some mount it sideways or parallel to the bottom of unit.

Warren: This is all happening when I'm blindly riding down the road, drinking my coffee, talking on my cell explaining the movie I'm watching on my truck dash DVD only to bee'atch at the car in front who had the nerve to cut my off.
Was that coffee or a beer?

RE: Propane generator altitude problems

Did you have the altitude adjustment control set to the proper altitude?
There is no altitude adjustment option. That's only on the gas model.
Mooney, can you be more specific? Where do you spray the starting fluid and is this a good idea on a propane generator? i don't think the carb is accessable.
I sprayed it in the air filter. Certainly not a long term solution as the generator should be starting without problems at 5,000 feet.
How many hours are on the unit? Is the filter clean? Have you changed the plug? Have you checked the small vent hose on the bottom? Are any other propane appliances giving you problems?
Could be your regulator needs adjusting.

RE: Circuit City and Campers

There was a piece on the news about it the other day. They where pulling back the labels and the price under the liquidator tag was lower then the sales price This was time and time again. They had a item on sale for 29 dollars only to pull away the sales tag and show that it was on sale for 19 before the "store closing"
The sales guy at our local CC said that the store that was closing had stuff that CC doesn't even carry. They were just bring in everything and putting it on "sale". They mark it up to full retail and then discount it. They had CC and linings and things on the NEWS!!!
Not saying there isn't any good deals to be had just that buyer beware!!!!!!!
AF1
I believe I saw the same story, yes I would have to say buyer beware . . . not everything is a great deal. However I just bought the DVD "Ironman" at Costco for 21 bucks, usually hard to beat their prices. Well CC had both Ironman and the Hulk at 9 bucks. That hurt.
Seems like the best deals are in the accessories, where the biggest mark up is located. Things like cables and connectors have a lot of profit in them, therefore the bigger savings for us who need it.

RE: Circuit City and Campers

The CC that are closing have already been taken over by the Liquidators. They are marking up the price and then discounting them. No real deals to be had if you check there prices.
AF1
You might want to double check that. I bought 24ft of high quality Monster (4) gauge, 8 gold plated ring connectors, 100 amp fuse harness and (4) fuses for $48 at CC.
I priced that same setup at Best Buy . . . $289.
Incredible discount in my book.

RE: Where is a good place...

If I had a pair of used but in good condition Reico Titan Jacks that were zinc plated with black heads, two of them with needed seal kits and wanted $50 plus the cost of shipping, I would definitely suggest Craigslist.:S

RE: What size A/C unit should I get?

Unless the low profile appeals to you I just can't understand why so many would opt for the much smaller polar cub when the PS series gives you a lot more cooling power for slightly more electrical power.
The Polar Cub uses 9amps at full draw and puts out 9k btu of cooling.
Coleman Mach III PS uses 10.2 amps at full draw and gives you 13.5k btu.
With the heat and humidity of Florida I would sure want the option of having more cool when needed.
Here is a link to the info I am referring too: Coleman Mach III PS

RE: What size A/C unit should I get?

Go with the 13.5 Coleman Mach III PS. Gives you benefit of having a more powerful A/C when you need it while using less power than a 11 btu unit. Runs great on the Honda 2000.

RE: Supersprings or Air Shocks?

Springs and shocks do two different things. Springs suspend you load while the shocks stop the oscillation.
If you getting sway, the Super Spring system will help, however you might just consider a sway bar if that's your problem.

RE: !!!ATTENTION ALL TC OWNERS!!!

Okay thanks to everyone so far, keep em' coming...
Now my answer for Mudmovers, the only way that I know to power the fridge on elec is to have a 3-way and use the batteries (12v), which would be charged by the truck while underway. Unless someelse has another suggestion.
Seems like most owners are "happy campers."
No . . . you can do it by running an inverter since the fridge is more efficient then running it directly on 12v. My inverter uses 18amp of 12v to power the fridge at 110v, the previous fridge using 12v was drawing 25 amps.
